n°148/ Boys Don't Cry

December 2014

Guess what, like many of you, I love Matthew McConaughey because he is such an amazing acting engine or machinery. Except that he has to be extremely well adjusted. As a handsome guy, he can become vain and somehow vulgar. As a Texas native, his drawl can turn into some whistling annoying sound. As a long bony face, he can sometimes look like an old lady. But all weaved together, his « flaws » can make up some stunning and appealing sexy mix, his best achievement being his Rustin Cole True Detective character. Until Nolan played him Interstellar, crying for his daughter and the magic was gone. I’d rather have him dark, cynical and even nasty. Some boys must definitely not cry.
