Have you ever actually heard Kate Moss’ voice? I hadn’t, until I saw the latest Dior Addict ad. (Though you don’t actually see her saying the claim, who else could it be?) We’re used to seeing other models from her generation – say, the talkative Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford or Carla Bruni – expressing themselves on TV, but Kate has always refused all kinds of interviews. So I was so surprised to hear her voice in the Dior Addict ad because it was so sharp, so elegant, so stiff-upper-lip British, and I’ve been told many times that she remains silent to hide her South London accent from her fans.
So has Kate been getting some specific training? Is this a new departure in her career, as if she were moving from silent movies to talkies, or from in-fancy (in-fans: who can’t talk) to adulthood?
