Born and raised in 1953 in Minneapolis, Amercian painter Malcolm Liepke would cross a 19th century French-style painting and troubled waters if troubled waters was an artistic trend. There are references to, and echoes of, Degas, Lautrec as well as of Sargent or Whistler. Some modern-day demi-monde living in robes that would drown in deep troubled waters and sink whithout taking their eyes out of us. Uncanningly gorgeous.
