Furniture Design

Mendini, Alessandro (1931)

The Italian designer was fuelled by his passion for fine arts and travels when imagining architectural and design projects where ornamentation was the starting point of creativity. With an ironic approach, he developed the concept of “redesign”, redrawing the legendary objects of other designers such as Joe Colombo or Marcel Breuer. He also revisited everyday objects turning them into playful and kitsch pieces: 'an idea-catcher that turns them into magic situations'.
