Giorgio di Sant'Angelo (1933 - 1989)

Born in Italy, the American designer was discovered by Diana Vreeland enthralled by his innovative plastic jewellery and avant-garde ideas. When he started designing fashion, he preferred colourful, fluid and ethnic clothes to space age- like architectural designs. He later conceived stretched garments that fitted like a second skin.
