Hervé Léger (1985)

Having started as a hat-maker, Hervé Peugnet mastered difficult techniques he applied to his dress creations. He pioneered the so-called “bandage dresses”, unadorned body-conscious garments that would mould and shape the wearer's figure with its signature bandage-like strips. In 1998, Max Azria acquired Hervé Léger: the fist-ever acquisition of a French label by an American designer.
