n°207/ Anna Hahoutoff

February 2017

by Nathalie Azoulai

Born in Paris to a French mother and a Russian father, 23 year old self-taught photographer, Anna Hahoutoff keeps on shooting her fascination for America. Through a series she's been elaborating since 2014, so-called Americana, she shows how deep and persistent her American dream is, no matter what. More than a geography, more than a country, it keeps fueling our need to believe in the West, as a thin and powerful line or spot where the sun sets, where day differs from night, where light can rise and hope enlighten us.
