March 2016

by Nathalie Azoulai

Some exhibitions being more conceptual than others address puzzling artistic questions such as : when is a work of art finished ? An "unfinished" work might either give insight into the uncontrolled process of creation, insists on a clear non-finito intention or lead to an aesthetic of the unresolved, up to the extended boundaries of abstract painting. The new Met exhibition comprises 197 works among which the greatest masters’, such as Titian, Rembrandt, Turner, Cézanne, Pollock, Rauschenberg and so many more. From March 18 to September 4.

 Joseph Mallord William Turner

 Paul Cézanne

 Jackson Pollock
