Since the early 1980s, Rei Kawakubo has been embodying the other side of fashion. The tiny Japanese designer sticks to her own way, faithful to her disruptive conceptual way and her silent persona. Till September 4, the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan will feature 150 examples of Kawakubo’s womenswear for Comme des Garçons, under the title of « Art in the In-Between ». An exhibit that will not stop the stardom.
