Burberry (1856)

Thomas Burberry develops a sportswear company that seduces British aristocrats whilst establishing the house's trademarks: gabardine (1888), the trench coat (for WWI British soldiers) and the Nova Check (in 1924). After the 1950s, the house slowly declines. At the end of the 1990s, Burberry comes back with seductive ads and a new line designed by Christopher Bailey who proposes modern elegant garments that celebrate the house's iconic symbols.
